Aldbourne
Youth Council is delighted to announce that Aldbourne Chase Farms and friends
have generously donated £1755.00 as a contribution to
expanding the range of youth and community activities at the JUNCTION. David Graham Keeper at Aldbourne Chase Farms presented the cheque on Tuesday 2nd September 2014.
Mr Brian Kingham said
“It’s great to see the JUNCTION blazing a trail in the provision of stimulating youth and community activities in Aldbourne. Aldbourne has had a long tradition in being enterprising and this imaginative project created entirely by members of the community contributing their time and money is a great example of this spirit. The JUNCTION is a superb place for Young People to meet, learn and socialise. We are delighted to be supporters of the JUNCTION and the tremendous work it is doing in Youth and Community development. At a time when Wiltshire County Council is cutting back on its specialist Youth work the example of the JUNCTION could not be more timely. I am sure where Aldbourne leads today the rest of Wiltshire will follow tomorrow.”
On hearing the news Amber Phelps, Youth Chair replied:
“This is fantastic news. We are very grateful for Aldbourne Chase Farms and friends’ contribution as it means we can do more to provide activities and opportunities for the youth who come and use the Junction in Aldbourne”
Carol Flinders, Chair of trustees added:
“It is without a doubt encouraging when local landowners are supporting the youth of the community, which will aid to develop an intuitive and respectful younger generation, and enable us to reach other outlying villages. Everyone is welcome to join in with activities taking place at Community Junction.”
