Clothing recycle BinAYC are collecting old clothing, blankets, material, shoes to recycle.
We bag up everything and in exchange receive payments from the recycle organisers. (Paid on a weight basis.) Funds received go towards maintaining/running costs of Community Junction. Black bags are available to collect at Community Junction for your convenience or just pop your recycleables into The Junction. Youth Council members are also very willing to collect any items. Please contact Trustees who will organise a collection for you. |
Community JunctionCommunity Junction is a self sustaining project that comprises of a second hand charity shop, tuck shop and holiday let. Adult volunteers and trustees manage the day to day activities when young people are at school, work or college. Community Junction is also available to hire.
Please speak to Cheryl Phelps or any Trustee for more information. Income from these activities is essential to ensure the building is maintained and activities remain mostly free or at cost. Inline with the Aldbourne Youth Council constitution, young people are encouraged to help manage the tuck shop, charity shop and holiday let alongside adult volunteers, youth workers and Aldbourne Youth Council Trustees. Both the charity shop and tuck shop are in operation during all youth sessions in addition to publicised times. You may have another idea you would like to try or organise? Or are you 16+ or an adult looking for volunteering opportunities? Community Junction needs to make enough money to cover the running costs of the venue and create a small sinking fund for maintenance purposes. Can you help run the charity shop in the day time or help with a fundraising event? Or maybe you have a skill to share? Everyone has a talent - come and share yours or perhaps find it by joining in with one of the many activities on offer! Pop into the Junction and leave a message for an Aldbourne Youth Council Trustee (Post box inside the Junction) email [email protected] or speak to our youth work volunteers for more information. |
